Interaction Design Interim Show

Pictures have been added to the gallery section of the pixel roller working live at the Royal College of Arts interaction Design interim show 2005.

The show is still on and the pixel roller will be up and running on Wednesday 9th during the private view of the IDE show upstairs between 6 and 9pm.

After much tinkering, setting and re-setting, we finally got the pixel roller acurate enough to print canvas areas. Some of the results are below...

Pixel rollers first public appearence...

Will be at the Royal College of Art's Interaction Design interim show. You will be able to play with the first Pixel Roller prototype: Light Roller, which uses high intensity UV LED's to excite Phosporescent paper leaving an image made from light. Check out the flyer below for all the details.

Long exposure shots on doors...

While waiting for the phosphorescent ink sheets to be printed by the kind kind people up in Print making (here at the Royal College of Art), we had a play with doing some long exposure shots using a door window... check out the pic below, you might be able to make out at least a bit of our logo!

Prototype one ready!

The first prototype is ready for testing. It uses a series of 12 Ultra bright UV LEDs which excite phosphorescent ink as it passes leaving pixels behind... here's a quick pic of it... ohhh, electronics!!

Started working on the prototypes of the pixel rollers using processing. Wonderful little Java applet builder developed by Ben Fry and Casey Reas. Check out an early on-screen version of the pixel roller...
