"dostoprimetschatjelnosti" Berlin Hellersdorf
Summer 2002

From June until September 2002 rAndom was part of the "dostoprimetschatjelnosti" project in East Berlin. Together with 50 other designers, architects, composers, painters and artists we lived and worked in an abandoned former GDR office building. The project was focusing on new ways of usage for these kind of buildings. One of our projects during this was to create a bar/lounge to serve 400 people during the private views and official events within the building at several occasions.

The budget was 50 Euros. Corridor lights were used to create a surface for the serving of the customers. At the same time the lights work as the only illumination of the room. Old doors were used for the main body and the shelves inside the haltBar ("reliable").

Other rAndom projects included a Reading Room, a Gagarin Lounge and the interior design of our futurist flat.

The project found a wide echo in the German cultural press and was finished with the exhibition "Fernwärme" during September 2002.
